Glenn will make any deal team better.
While he was the Managing Director - Business Development for Flint Hills Resources, I worked with Glenn on vetting opportunities, and when the decision was made to move forward, executing the "bolt-on" acquisitions.
These deals included acquiring the Williams North Pole Refinery and related assets in 2004, acquiring the BP Chemical Intermediates plant in Joliet, Illinois in 2004 and acquiring the Huntsman Base Chemical Business and US Polymer Business in 2007.
Vetting. Glenn does not want to do every deal; he wants to do the right deal on terms that will enhance the value of the combined enterprises. Some of Glenn's greatest contributions involved uncovering liabilities and weaknesses in businesses that made them undesirable targets. Glenn also has a keen eye when it comes to evaluating the quality of management teams.
Deal Documentation. When a transaction reaches the documentation phase, Glenn plays an invaluable role. He will immerse himself in the Purchase and Sale Agreement and ensure that any matters that have been discovered in diligence have been appropriately addressed. If a Seller has prepared disclosure schedules he will make sure that every item on a disclosure schedule has been reviewed by the appropriate team member.
Integration. Glenn understands that the deal does not end when it is signed, and the deal does not end when money moves. The deal goes on and will only be successful with complete integration.
Complex Commercial Transactions. Many of the businesses that FHR acquired had assets on shared sites. In some instances, transition services agreements needed to be structured and negotiated and in other circumstances long-term supply agreements, shared site agreements and long-term services agreements needed to be structured and negotiated. Glenn would always play a pivotal role assimilating the business needs, the operational constraints and liability allocations to create a workable solution for both parties.
Temperament. Glenn has the right temperament to work on complex transactions, remaining focused and even tempered during the diligence process and in lengthy negotiation sessions. He is extremely organized and does not do anything halfway. He will work tirelessly to keep the team and the project on track.

As President & CEO of Advance Catastrophe Technologies (ACT) and with a long history in the Restoration Industry, I have interacted with many business consultants.
Most tell you what you already know and don’t help you develop true actionable strategies for improving your business. This is not the case with Glenn Personey.
Glenn’s ability to lead your team, regardless of the industry, to strategically dissect the business and put it back together with a newfound enlightenment, is nothing short of impressive.
I am now reaping the benefits of a long and focused strategic planning journey with Glenn. We are completely remaking our 19-year-old company. From our branding, to the services we offer in the industry we thought we served adequately, all the way to taking our offerings abroad.
All of this has happened in less than eight months’ time. Our managers are more focused on growth than ever before. For once in a long while, we are all on the same page, working towards the same goals.
If you are a business owner or high level manager committed to growing beyond your current bandwidth, I highly recommend Glenn. He is the real deal.
I caution you: Glenn will challenge your team to recognize their true potential and build an aggressive plan to reach it. No “Loser Strategies” here. Not for the faint of heart, but absolutely worth every minute and every penny.

After working with Glenn for nearly 15 years, I can confidently state that there is no better M&A professional for managing all types of deals, be they large or small, complex or simple.
Glenn provides a steady hand throughout a potentially disruptive process, and clear leadership over broad and diverse transactional teams that include finance professionals, HR, IT, attorneys and business leaders.
I have worked with Glenn extensively through the lifecycle of projects, including due diligence, contract negotiations, sign-to-close and post-closing integration. His attention to detail ensures that nothing falls through the cracks and allows business leadership to focus on deal objectives rather than the endless minutiae of the contemplated transaction.
His calm demeanor and team approach ensures that the deal team stays focused and achieves their objectives.
I wouldn’t hesitate to engage Glenn again, and look forward to working with him again in the future.

He will leave you with a clear template for successful growth on your future projects. I can assure you his completed deals have made many millions of dollars for his companies, and just as important, he will inform you when a deal is not worth pursuing by telling you the truth based on fact. He is, without reservation or doubt, the very best at what he does.
I have known and worked with Glenn Personey for nearly 40 years. I can say without reservation that Glenn combines traits, which are highly valued, better than any person I have ever had the pleasure with which to work. First, Glenn is highly intelligent and logical, and he couples that with a genuine interest in people. His attention to the significant details of a project or business issue is absolutely unwavering and first class. He is a true master of the processes and requirements necessary for successful mergers and acquisitions, immediately identifying potential synergies, benefits and risks, and then working through those issues with outstanding business acumen. He also possesses an intrinsic ability to carefully train clients and people within his purview to ensure their future success.
Secondly, Glenn’s successes are repetitive. Our long history together began at Conoco and proceeded through the Transportation, Refining and Marketing segments. Glenn was promoted through each function and broadened his knowledge base before moving on to further success at Clark Oil and Koch Industries. We both attained
VP-level assignments with various companies but always stayed in touch. I know that Koch relied on him so much that when we joined for a fishing trip in Alaska, he worked long hours at night reviewing and analyzing pertinent information for an important acquisition with that company. In other words, he is diligent and thorough regardless of the task. This led to consistently positive results for any firm in which he worked.
Thirdly, Glenn is selfless and humble. I watched his success in Marketing at Conoco as his immediate supervisor and can tell you I have never had a better co-worker matriculate through complex issues and lead a group of subordinates with a more caring attitude than him. He doesn’t care who gets the credit for his successes; he is only focused on his people and the company’s success. He is refreshingly apolitical and lets his results “do the talking.”
Any firm requiting M&A services would do well to bring Glenn on board. His intellect, integrity, and character will be immediately apparent as he leads you through the process.

I have had the pleasure of working closely with Glenn on a number of transactions over the last decade, and I wish I could work with him on all of my deals. He understands the M&A process from point of view and strategy, all the way through execution and integration. His ability to mentor and guide a deal team through the entire process is extremely valuable.
Glenn can focus the team on what is relevant at every stage of the deal, allowing the transaction to progress smoothly rather than be interrupted by unwelcome surprises or become bogged down in irrelevant details. He also has a rare ability to communicate effectively with everyone involved in the project, providing an excellent bridge from the high-level objectives of the C-suite to the details that ultimately make it into the transaction documents.
Whatever your M&A needs may be, engaging Glenn would be a great step toward ensuring a successful outcome.

After having partnered with Glenn for the past 8 years to plan and execute business restructures and acquisitions, I must say, he is the most important member of your deal team, without exception!
Regardless of the complexity of the transaction, Glenn is able to cut through all of the minutiae and get to the core issues that must be addressed and/or advanced. While he may or may not be the subject matter expert for all of the things that must be done, his signature to success is bringing all of the right people to bear, that have the best knowledge and skills to accomplish what needs to be done.
He does a tremendous job of driving to key deliverables and determines the next steps that must be taken by each of the relative experts to accomplish the intended result and keep the project moving. He is relentless in his pursuit to accomplish the intended results, not just by the deadline but well in advance of the deadline, to ensure that there are no foot falls or last-minute issues that arise. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to advance our organizations initiatives these past eight 8 years.
Glenn is a superb professional, and will give you nothing but his best, and deliver nothing but the best for your project.

I have worked with Glenn on a large number of transactions over twenty years. Glenn brings a powerful system of tools and experience that leads to success across the spectrum of very large, strategically critical projects to relatively small ones. Glenn is well-versed in all stages of successful project development and execution. He has successfully led teams through opportunity identification, due diligence, negotiations, document drafting, closing processes and business integration.
Glenn proactively identifies and manages issues before they become problems. He knows what a successful deal process is, how to put it in place and how to manage it making projects move smoothly to success. His experience and systems enable business leaders to see and avoid pitfalls while spotting opportunities to create value for his client. His extraordinary attention to detail means things simply do not get missed on his projects.
Deals are inherently stressful and ripe for conflict. Glenn’s calm demeanor, born of “been there, done that” experience, keeps projects moving smoothly. He understands how to manage the process to best avoid and mitigate conflict while protecting his clients’ best interests.
From my experience, any project Glenn manages will be brought to successful completion, on-time, on-budget and with the maximum value creation for the client.

I worked for Glenn during his Business Development role at Clark Oil. Glenn’s talent, drive and leadership set the standard for all my future leaders.
He led the team which closed on the most significant acquisition in the history of the company. That asset, which was on the brink of closing, became the foundation for the company and is now one of the crowned jewels of a major corporation. To find this opportunity, he developed an innovative model to sort through all the potential acquisition targets and identify the most promising ones. This model was so groundbreaking that 20 years later it is still being used by the industry. He will also show you how to fill the opportunity pipeline, efficiently sort through the potential targets and identify those worth pursuing.
Glenn possesses the capability to build a team, manage any facet of an acquisition and facilitate efficient communication to achieve the objective. He is not driven by the need to just get a deal done, he is driven to get the right deal done. If there is a material flaw in the deal which cannot be resolved through the creativity of the team, he is disciplined enough to walk away. His motto is “sometimes the best deal you do is the deal you don’t do.”
He also knows when a great deal meets a difficult hurdle that he must find a way to creatively overcome the concern. As he left a meeting where financing for a major deal fell apart, he stated “this deal is too good not to get done”, and he worked with management to secure alternative financing and closed the deal.
His drive to constantly move towards the objective in an efficient systematic manner is one of his best skills. He keeps all fronts moving forward and redeploys resources to any areas which are at risk of falling behind schedule. In addition, I have watched him take on a large team of professionals from a fortune 500 company and outmaneuver them at the negotiation table.
There is no one I would more strongly recommend, to develop and run a business development group or acquisition team than Glenn.
